East Blue, Doatern Island
Three years back


It was a peaceful day. The wind blew softly through everyone's hair and the sun was shining at a not too hot temperature, in a big radius. Nymeros walked around his place of birth, the town of Iegoë. It was pretty big and had lots of civilians, yet they were kind of oppressed by the nobles.

He wore his standard outfit; a red cloak with a white shirt underneath, white trousers and his spear on his back sheathed. Not to forget, his dagger, which was sheathed onto his belt.

He was 13 years old, but even at that age he wore the spear that rose more than a meter above his head. He was a skilled warrior and was able to take on anyone in this town, thanks to his late master.

He made a walk around town, through the alleyways on the sandy island, but stopped when he heard a scream. ''EEEEEK!~'' He was all alone, or so he thought. Was there someone in trouble? Nymeros slowly approached the direction of where he heard the scream.

''Hey, let go of me! I don't--'', a girly voice said. Nymeros followed the sound and saw two man holding a girl against the wall with their hands on her clothes, while another, way younger guy was observing the two man whilst leaning against the opposite wall. Nymeros closed his eyes shortly, before pulling out his dagger and throwing it into the hand of the largest guy of the trio.

He then unsheathed his spear and held it's tip close to his hand.

''What do you guys think that you're doing?'' Nymeros said, as he approached the latters with slow steps. The girl had her eyes closed while the large guy, that got penetrated by the dagger, was heavily trying to pull out that dagger.

It was however thrown with super accuracy and power, so that it would be stuck between the bones and if he would pull it out by force, he would destroy his hand so to speak.

''Are ya' looking for a fight, boy?'' The leaning guy said. He stood up from leaning and unsheathed a sword that was sheathed onto his belt, and pointed it at Nymeros.

His red and yellow colored eyes were lighted up by the sun that gave Nymeros a spotlight, while the alley was further covered in shadows.

''Whether I'm looking for a fight shouldn't concern you, noble one. Leave that girl alone, if she does not wishes to be touched.''

''Dude, are you a fucking creep or what? Get the hell out of here, before I'll execute you.''

Nymeros sighed. He kicked sand up in the air and directed by the wind the sand flew into their eyes, aside from the girl's eyes as she had them closed the whole time.

''Agh, you bastard! Get him, Gus, Jone!''

Nymeros however, had already acted and had sprinted towards them, using his spear's pole as a weapon, slamming it onto the three, before grabbing the girl's hand and pulling her along with him. He now stood some meters away from the three guys, with the girl behind him.

''Everything will be alright.''

''Take this! Rifle Punch!''

Nymeros dodged a pretty strong attack, he supposed, and without any holding back he would strike back, however, he wouldn't use a lethal one so he insisted on not using the spearhead.

''Since you want it so badly..
Empuja Guillotina! (Push Guillotine)''

Nymeros slammed the bottom of the spear into the ground and tried to push the ground awa, resulting in him getting pushed upwards instead. He kept hold of the spear and slammed it onto the head of one of the bruisers, causing the guy to get knocked out after getting hit like a train as his head was pushed onto the ground.

There were two guys left, and if it was a fight they were looking for, whether it would be for joy and entertainment or for  a 'don't-fuck-with-me' reputation, Nymeros wouldn't be the guy they should've picked out!

Nymeros looked at the two guys that were left. A big guy, the one he had hit with the dagger, and the leader of the trio, as Nymeros assumed. He was able to see his dagger lying on the ground behind them with blood of the big guy on it's blade.

''Gus.''

The big guy, apparently named Gus, nodded and ran towards Nymeros with balled fists. Nymeros shaked his head as he knew resistance was futile against the to-be-known-as Red Snake, Akahebi. As the big guy ran towards Nymeros, Nymeros started spinning his spear in the air before stopping it's movement and stabbing Gus in his left foot, causing him to fall facefirst into the sand, quickly pulling the spear out of the foot before Gus would land on it.

Nymeros smirked, and looked at the leader. He put the end of the spear into the ground and leaned against it. Than, he started waving 'come-to-me' in sign language, but before Nymeros knew it the guy was infront of him.. And he had.. bird wings?!

Was he hallucinating? The guy.. had wings.. like a bird..
And his feet.. like bird's too! Enormous claws!

''What is happening..''

Nymeros whispered to himself, before getting assaulted by the half-bird/half-human. However, before Nymeros could respond to the attack, he was overwhelmed, and got his chest torn open and received it's claws through his stomach. Nymeros coughed blood and the half-bird/half-human backed off and looked above Nymeros.

A roof. Someone aiming their bow at the half-human/half-bird. And a flying arrow.

It hit the half-bird/half-human in his chest, but not deep enough as the leader of the trio was able to pull the arrow out with ease and throw it back with enormous velocity!

However, the archer was able to deflect that arrow with another one, before jumping off the roof and aiming to axe-kick the half-bird/half-human after doing a somersault to add more power to the kick. The kick connected, and the half-human/half-bird was easily defeated, the same way Nymeros took care of the first guy, Jone.

The archer, hooded and all, looked over his shoulder towards Nymeros.

''Are you alright?''

''Not really.. but-''

Before being able to finish his sentence, Nymeros coughed blood once more and was unable to breath because of the blood filling his mouth. The archer walked over to Nymeros and put him sitting against the wall. Due to sitting straight, he could breath properly.

''Stay here, I'll get help and take care of the girl. You wanted to ask that, right?''

'"Yes.. Thank you..''

All went black after saying thank you, and Nymeros woke up in a dark room laying on a comfortable bed, resting.

Who was it that saved him? The archer.. Nymeros wondered who he were and maybe.. train Nymeros, so that he could do the same. The moment Nymeros first witnessed the archer was a moment where he concluded that the guy was extremely skilled. He wondered however, what got him to being there to save Nymeros and the girl.

He looked around him, but there was nothing but a glass of water on a table made of straw. He moved his body upwards, so that he would sit straight instead of lying down, and noticed a silhouette made out of shadows infront of him against the wall. He looked over his shoulder if there was someone standing infront of a light, but nothing like that.

''What are you looking for, boy?''

A dark, cold and calm voice spoke. Nymeros immediately knew where it was coming from and looked that way, but there was nothing. He was certain that there was someone standing there.

''If you're feeling better and are okay to leave, jump out of bed and slam through the wall infront of you.''

Nymeros stood up, rolled out of bed onto his feet but didn't run towards the wall.

''Train me.''

''For what purpose?''

''Protection.''

''To whom, for whom?''

''Everyone.''

''Who is everyone?''

Nymeros had already closed his eyes, but now opened them and looked the archer straight into his eyes.

''The good people.''

''Wrong answer.''

The moment the archer finished the two-word sentence, he shot an arrow towards Nymeros, aiming at his chest.

What was he thinking.. In my current state.. No.. wait..

Nymeros closed his eyes once again, and started to breath with his nose in and out through his mouth.

The arrow.

It came closer.

And closer.
