It’s been noted that he respect opponents who are able to outsmart him and or think well enough to combat his explosive combat-style. That being said, he can explode in fits of rage very easily, and often ends up killing some if not all of his subordinates. Due to this nature of his, the World Government decided to promote him to Vice Admiral just recently, and has gone against higher-ranking Marines to demote and possibly execute him. Though they have compromised with those higher-ranks by attempting to assign him a partner. They have yet to find one.
Despite his greed and temper, he has proven to be very dutiful towards the Marines and allies.
